Re: No Frills ARDF Training Hunt - Penang
March 23, 2009 on 12:45 am | In Uncategorized, ARDF Workshop and Clinic, ARDF Bulletin Year 2009 | No CommentsThe ARDF Training Hunt was held on March 8th, 2009 as per scheduled.
It was a refresher session, and opportunity to stretch our legs. Some of the hunters were feverishly making new antennas for the hunt a few days back ( probably misplaced their old ones ).
ARDF Year 2009 - What’s in-store?
January 9, 2009 on 12:21 am | In Uncategorized, ARDF Bulletin Year 2009 | No CommentsHi fellow ARDF hunters,
Year 2008 was quite an interesting year for ARDF in Malaysia.
We had quite a number of field activities which many were carried out successfully on self-volunteer basis. The interest in this sport has certainly gained momentum. Often we will hear of clubs and societies putting Fox hunt as one of their future activities. As a wrap-up, ARDF activities in the form of technical workshops or hunts had sprung up not only in Penang but also in Wilayah, Segamat, Malacca and East coast of peninsular Malaysia. (a little birdie told me and my apologies if I left out any other ARDF events )
Ah! There was an international event which I had the opportunity to participate. The 14th World ARDF Championships held in Hwaseong City, South Korea. A real eye-opener.
So much for Year 2008.
Now, Year 2009 is here. We need to consolidate our individual efforts to boost the ARDF activities in Malaysia. It is a healthy sport where more participants the merrier! Either way, you still need to hone your individual skills and depend on your two legs to carry you throughout the game. Since we are quite a scattered group ( some quietly budding in some nooks and crooks ), we need to come together as an ARDF community. There is no need to form another club or society and get bogged down with unnecessary paperwork. Either way we boys ( and gals ) just wanna have fun!
Since I have already have a self-sponsored web site “www.MyARDFSport.com” dedicated towards ARDF activities, I volunteer to continue promoting ARDF activities in Malaysia. Would appreciate if you could contact me via email, so that I can get in touch with you on these activities. If you have any news or activities concerning ARDF in your club/society, I would like to hear from you.
This year, I have planned ….
May 2nd … ( Revised 2x)
Penang Open Fox Hunt. - Completed
JUNE / JULY onwards …
Specialised ARDF training to meet IARU R3 ARDF Standards and Equipment.
Late October …
IARU R3 ARDF Championships in Thailand. Expect to lead a participating team to represent Malaysia for the 1st time?
Minor hunts, clinics and workshop will be slotted in from time to time.
Hope to hear from you soon and happy hunting!

North Johor MARTS - ARDF Hunt
July 23, 2008 on 9:18 pm | In Uncategorized, ARDF Hunt Year 2008 | No CommentsShort report on Segamat Fox Hunt … July 23rd, 2008
By 9W2PCK - CK Choy - District Manager, NorthJohor MARTS
The second foxhunt organised by NorthJohor MARTS went off successfully. Hams from Melaka, Muar, Segamat and Muadzam Shah participated in this hunt which was located at Taman Bukit Hampar, Segamat. This was the 1st time for most of the hams present.
The fox setup were as follows:
Three (3) beacons transmitting continuously on different frequencies.
Two (2) international standard beacons running on the same frequency with 1 minute alternating intervals.
We were glad that all the hunters could locate all the foxes.
